Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of leadership and competence on the performance of lecturers and their implications on the learning motivation of Pamulang University students. The method used is quantitative descriptive analysis by testing the validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, regression analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis and hypothesis testing. Data collection techniques with a questionnaire of 100 respondents. The results obtained: the leadership variable has a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance with a correlation value of 0.651 and the magnitude of influence of 42.4%, hypothesis testing p value 0,000 <0.05. The competency variable has a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance with a correlation value of 0.602 and the magnitude of the effect of 36.3%, hypothesis testing p value 0,000 <0.05. The leadership and competency variables simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on lecturers' performance with the regression equation Y = 12.568 + 0.381X1 + 0.312X2. Correlation value of 0.717 and the magnitude of the effect of 51.5%, hypothesis testing p value 0,000 <0.05. The lecturer performance variable has a positive and significant effect on student motivation with a correlation value of 0.664 and the magnitude of the effect of 44.0%, hypothesis testing p value 0,000 <0.05.
